Where do i begin?..hmmmm

Rant 1:
Few weeks back when I was in my economics tutorial..the tutor told us to work in pairs to swop research plans/notes for the upcoming essay exam we were all crazily preppin for..and i was sitting next to an asian girl, so we paird up..she whips out a WHOLE written essay about 2-3 pages..and all i have in a brief plan/idea >__>..so anyway the tutors walking around she he comes up to us and asks how were going..he see's that we have a fully written up essay and says to us, "See, This is why I love international students. Theyre always so well prepared and studious"..thats when I turned to him and said, "I'm not an international student..I was born here >__>"........*awkward silence*.....so then the tutor walks off......and im thinkin "wat? so wat does that make me? STUPID?!"


Rant 2:
2 weeks back my boyfriend and I were shopping at a big jewellery/piercing shop..and we were looking through this glass cabinet with fake plugs..the manager of the store (I know hes the manager because I've shopped there for a few years now..) approaches us and says "Ni Hao" [mandarin for Hello] (hes white too btw)..I turn around, feeling a little annoyed and I said "Heyy.." the man says "So where are you from?" .. "Here.." .. "No, where were you born?" .. "Here. >_>" ...... yet again another *AWKWARD SILENCE* Now I'm just pissed off!


Over the past few years, Brisbane has been getting in ALOT of Asian students, however..I've was born and bred here. Sometimes it FRUSTRATES me when people just assume that I'm from the other side of the world. Ethnically, I am. But nonetheless..I am still Australian. I just wish that people wouldnt ASSUME that I'm an international student/tourist..

Then again, just for laughs..would've been hilarious if i turned around to the manager of the piercing/jewellery shop and said "Bonjour"...or some gibberish
